DYING TO KNOW

I have always been interested in what is beyond
the physical world we know, or the one we think
we know. I was diagnosed with cancer aged 23,
at the time I thought a lot about my own spiritual
beliefs. Since then it has been in the background
of all of my artwork. This is the first time I have
addressed it directly.

‘Dying to Know’ was produced in 2010, and
questions life, death and our beliefs about both.
I made the figure and constructed each scenario
that became part of the character’s spiritual quest.
Each scenario could equally be describing everyday
events or the bigger questions in life.
